
They are called Juvenile Delinquents. Or Youthful Offenders.
Or whatever. Theyve broken the law. Theyre doing time.
And their prospects upon re-entering a society that would just as soon shunt them aside are, frankly, pretty dim.
We are teaching these kids how to take pictures. We give them hands-on training in photography, computer imaging, and printmaking. A way to see the world in a new light. Were not miracle workers; were professional photographers. But we think we might have found a way to make a difference.
No, its not a magic pill. But weve seen them change. From lost
kids to young people with potential. Young people who are only just beginning
to view the community as a place in which they have a stake.
